එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සංවිධානයට හෝ වෙනත් කිසිදු රටකට ශ‍්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ කිසිදු පරීක්‍ෂණයක් පැවැත්වීමට ආරක්‍ෂක ලේකම්වරයා වශයෙන් තමා කිසිසේත්ම ඉඩ නොදෙන බව ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්‍ෂ මහතා පවසයි. ශ‍්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ කිසිදු වරදක් සිදුවී නොමැති බැවින් පරීක්‍ෂණ පැවැත්වීමට කිසිදු අවශ්‍යතාවයක් නැති බවත් මෙරට ජනතාවගේ අවශ්‍යතාවය වන්නේ රටට සාමය, සංවර්ධනය ළගා කර ගැනීම බවත් ආරක්‍ෂක ලේකම්වරයා මෙහිදී පෙන්වා දුන්නේය. ඔහු මේ බව ප‍්‍රකාශ කළේ යුද අපරාධ ආදී චෝදනා සම්බන්ධව  ශ‍්‍රී ලංකාව පිළිබඳ පරීක්‍ෂණ පැවැත්වීමට ජාත්‍යන්තරයෙන් එල්ලවන බලපෑම ගැන බී.බී.සී. මාධ්‍යවේදියෙකු ඇසූ පැනයකට පිළිතුරු දෙමිනි. එතුමා වැඩිදුරටත් කියා සිටියේ මේ පරීක්‍ෂණ ඉල්ලා සිටින පිරිස් වල ඇත්තේ වෙනත් අරමුණක් බව සහ එය කිසිසේත්ම මේ රටේ අවශ්‍යතාවය නොවන බවය.
